Our Policy Commitment to the Environment
Haymills is fully committed to the aims and objectives of ISO14001 and continual environmental performance improvement.
We recognise that our day-to-day operational activities impact on the natural and human environment in many ways.
This Policy is seen as the catalyst to drive our commitment to the environment, which we will actively pursue through the co-operation of our employees, clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and local communities.
Our policy commitment is to promote the protection and improvement of the environment by implementing effective management systems to minimise, whenever and wherever practical, the harmful impact of our business operations on the environment by: -
-
Ensuring we have professional support available in the form of Environmental Advisors.
-
Implementing a programme of continual improvement and consistently assessing the Environmental implications of our business activities.
- Ensuring that all Company activities are safe for our employees, associates and the general public.
- Complying with, or exceeding all relevant legislation, regulations, industry codes of practice and statutory directives.
-
Accepting reasonable responsibility for any harm caused to the environment by our activities and taking prompt action to remedy any damage.
-
Employing methods of working that minimises materials usage, limits waste and favours the use of renewable, recyclable or recycled materials.
-
Encouraging our suppliers and sub-contractors to adopt and comply with the aims and objectives of this Policy.
-
Seeking to integrate environmental considerations into future business policy decisions.
-
Ensuring that our employees are aware of, understand and participate in achieving the aims and objectives of this Policy through communication and training.
-
Minimising the nuisance of noise, dust, construction traffic, etc., to those living and working in close proximity to our construction activities.
-
Where possible, taking practical measures to protect the natural and human environment from pollution, damage to the eco-system and depletion of natural resources.
-
Seeking to influence clients and designers to adopt design solutions which are efficient in the use of energy and natural resources.
We will measure our success at achieving the Policy objectives by setting quantified benchmark targets with timescales, which will be regularly monitored and reported against.
We believe that the Company and our clients will derive tangible benefits from implementing this Policy, whilst making a significant contribution to the protection and improvement of the environment.
We will ensure that is Policy is kept under review, properly resourced and available to all our staff and other interested parties.
